Content
The course analyzes how perspectives from economics and can be applied to study political decision-making processes.

Knowledge
You learn
- about the consequences of collective decisions for efficiency and equity
- about the relationship between voter preferences and policy decisions
- how rent-seeking affects political decisions
- causes of inefficiency in organizations
Skills
You should be able to
- understand and describe the preferences of agents that participate in political processes
- use analytical and graphical models to analyze policy outcomes
- critically evaluate claims about efficiency and equity that are made in the public debate
General competence
You should be able to
- follow economic reasoning related to the course in the public debate and professional reports
Teaching methods
2 hour of lectures every week and 2 hours of practical assignments every other week. Compulsory acticity: One approved term paper. The term paper can be written as a joint project by up to four students.
