About this course
Content
This course gives an overview of the basic mathematical concepts and methods necessary to learn mathematical representations in economics. Based on the mathematical framework, the course studies household and firm behavior, and how such behavior is affected by economic constraints.
Learning outcomes
Students should be able to master the mathematical methods necessary to analyze economic models at the bachelors level, and discuss central concepts of microeconomic analysis. Students should be able to do basic microeconomic analyses with the help of mathematical analysis and graphical representations.
Teaching methods
4 hours of lectures every week, and 2 hours of practical assignments every week. Compulsory activity: 2 approved term papers. Both term papers can be written as a joint project by up to four students.
