Romanian I

The course provides an introduction to Romanian language with emphasis on pronunciation, listening comprehension, written language and basic grammar. It also presents aspects of Romanian culture and society through texts and conversations.

The students should gain oral proficiency in elementary Romanian. They should be able to engage in elementary conversations in Romanian and to read simple texts. The students should also gain insight into Romanian culture and society.

Lectures, exercises, obligatory assignments.

The course is taught in Romanian and English.

Please note that that the course is sometimes taught in conjunction with RUM0502 and RUM0503, i. e. RUM0501 will be taught during the first weeks of the semster, then RUM0502 will be taught whereas RUM0503 will be taught during the last weeks of the semester.

RUM0502 and are not RUM0503 are not offered in the academic year 2011/2012.
