Knowledge, Learning and Communication in Science

Theories of learning, such as constructivism, sociocultural views of learning, learning as situated practice and experience-based learning. Furthermore, it contains views on the relationship between experiment and theory in science and teaching, and the significance of language and argumentation.

The student has insight in current perspectives on knowledge and learning in the natural sciences, and can give an account of the way these have developed in science education as an international research area and its influence on practice in the school subjects. The student is able to apply these perspectives in independent, critical and constructive ways in his/her own research and in oral and written presentations.
