Family Therapy I

The aim is to provide a historical overview of family therapy and its contribution to understanding and dealing with families’ difficulties, especially those that can arise in connection with children’s and adolescents’ mental health problems. Concepts and approaches from system theory as well as narrative therapy and constructionism will be covered, and there will be an introduction to use of systemic and narrative methods in practical family therapy. Definition of the family as an entity and legal frameworks for efforts to help families will also be included.

Emnet skal gi kandidatene en innføring i grunnlagstenkningen og de mest sentrale modeller i familieterapi og hvordan disse kan anvendes i den praktiske hverdag som familieterapeut.
