Child and Adolescent Mental Health - Multi-disciplinary Perspectives

The subject matter is the range of societal, biological and psychosocial perspectives involved in mental health and the description of mental health problems and burdens that can affect children and young people, and their families. There is an emphasis on the understanding of important concepts such as risk, resilience, disposition, resources and potential for change, as well as key policy issues such as prevention, intervention strategies, and the promotion of patients’ and families’ participation and rights. The significance of relation and role and appropriate organisational frameworks is an important concern. The aims is to provide an integrated basis for mental health work.

Kurset skal sette deltakerne i stand til å gjenkjenne og delta i vurdering av ulike psykososiale og psykiatriske tilstandsbilder hos barn og ungdom i samarbeid flerfaglig og mellom instanser. Kandidatene skal utvikle sin kunnskap om og forståelse av barn og unges utvikling og psykiske helse. Forståelse for betydningen av rolle, organisasjon, nettverk og samfunn, skal utvikles i forhold til psykisk helsearbeid
