Clinical Practice 4

After clinical practicum 4, the student will have increased knowledge about the importance of personal competence for the exercise of the profession of psychologist. The student will have increased knowledge and experience with structured and unstructured interview methods and simple neuopsychological screening measures. The student will get experience with administering diagnostic evaluations. This can also be done through observation of videotapes of patient interviews. The student will achieve insight into the demands to professional and personal development demanded by the work of a psychologist, as well as an increasing awareness of the relationship between personal prerequisites and professional competence. The student should have experience in psychological work in mental health care.

Knowledge:

• The student has knowledge about how to use unstructured and structured methods of psychological assessment related to clinical work with children, adolescents and adults.
• The student is familiar with the professional and personal development required in clinical practice.

Skills:

• The student has experiences with how to use unstructured and structured methods of psychological assessment related to clinical work with children, adolescents and adults.
• The student should be able to demonstate excellent capabilities to establish contact.

General competence:

• The student has competence with the professional and personal development required in clinical practice.
• The student is aware of the relationship between personal qualifications and professional competence in clinical practice.

Seminars, exercises, and supervision in groups and addition to this, one week practice in mental health care institution. Information and communication around subject to be found on It`s Learning. Evaluation is approved group-participation and practice. This course is evaluated according to the Guidelines for the implementation and evaluation of clinical practice.
