Clinical Practice 3

Clinical Practicum 3 will give the student increased knowledge about the importance of personal competence for performing the psychological work. The student shall hold knowledge of different methods of interviewing children and youth. The student will have increased experience with establishing contact and with different examination methods. The student will achieve insight into the demands to professional and personal development demanded by the work of a psychologist, as well as an increasing awareness of the relationship between personal prerequisites and professional competence.

Knowledge:

• The student has experiences with how to perform a psychological assessment, and the importance of a therapeutic alliance in clinical practice.
• The student has experiences with psychological work in front-line service.

Skills:

• The student is able to perform different psychological assessment for psychological work
• The students can explain, compose reports and give feedback based on these methods.
• The student should be able to demonstate excellent capabilities to establish contact.

General competence:

• The student is familiar with the professional and personal development required in clinical practice.
• The student is aware of the relationship between personal qualifications and professional competence in clinical practice.

Seminars, exercises, and supervision in groups. One week with practise in front line. The course requires that you take WISC/WAIS course the same semester, or that you previously have completed this course (from PSYPRO4415) Information and communication around subject to be found on Black Board. Evaluation is approved group-participation and practice. This course is evaluated according to the Guidelines for the implementation and evaluation of clinical practice.
