School and Educational Psychology

Topical themes are general and specific learning difficulties and social-emotional difficulties in the educational context. Integration of pupils with disabilities and the use of special teaching will be illustrated, including the use of case studies. Survey and consultation methodology, habilitation and rehabilitation work and pedagogic development work from kindergarten to university will be examined.

Knowledge:
The student has advanced knowledge regarding common problems connected to school and educational psychology and first line support. This includes theories, methods and research connected to the examination of children in normal context, preventing behavioral and emotional difficulties, and conditions preventing children from learning outcome.
Skills:
The student can review and analyze relevant professional problems connected to school and educational psychology and first line support.
The student can implement specific projects in school, family or local environment with a view to a better learning environment, social, emotional and behavioral difficulties based on exiting theories and research.
The student can apply the above mentioned knowledge in new areas within school and educational psychology and in first line support.
General competence:
The student can analyze relevant professional - and work ethics connected to the work with school and educational psychology and in first line support.
The student can apply knowledge and skills to new problems within the field.
The student can cooperate with other professionals when it comes to reviews and implementation of actions.
The student can communicate professional problems connected to the field, to relevant cooperating partners, employers, publics as well as parents, teachers and children.
