Master Thesis Learning - Brain, Behavior, Environment

The thesis should be written within the student's specialization area. The thesis consists of an empirical scientific investigation of a selected topic within learning - brain, behavior, environment, with a genuine psychological basis. Students must contact the course lecturer for advice on choice of thesis topic. Supervision is an essential component of the Masters thesis. It ensures that the student acquires the necessary knowledge and implies a necessary quality assurance in data collection and processing of data, and that this takes place within the Research Ethics guidelines.

Knowledge: The student is able to complete a scientific project.Skills: Students are able to analyse scientific problems. Students have the ability to communicate comprehensive independent research, written and oral.General competence: Students are able to think fundamentally and logically. The student are able to work independently. Students have the ability to undertake larger projects within specified time frames.

Teaching methods: Self study with supervision. Activities: Minimum 50% participation at the thesis seminar.

Supervision is a mandatory part of the program for those students who wish to submit a thesis. All Master students must complete a Masters Work agreement prior to the establishment of supervisory relationships. The Department will approve the research topic and the appointment of supervisors. Deadlines for applications for approval of topic and supervisor will be announced by the Department. Application forms are available at office of the Department. Individual rules for the design of the thesis and criteria for evaluation have been drawn up. These are available by contacting the Department.
