About this course
Content
An elective subject which can form part of a Masters degree in health, organizational and communication psychology. The test-theoretical and methodological part of the course concerns how sub-tests are chosen, constructed and put together as a tool for measurement - normally a profiling tool - which gives a profile of test scores. Students gain knowledge of the different types of scales and measurements of internalconsistency, reliability and valididty. The occupational
psychology part of the course provides an introduction to how test can be used in research on human characteristics, and measurement of these characteristics in applied psychology in supervision and recruitment - with special focus on those personal characteristics that affect how individuals approach work, careers and leadership.
Learning outcomes
The course provides an introduction to: * test theory - how psychological tests can be contructed, and how their psychometric properties can be documented and assessed * what personal characteristics imply about relationships to work and careers, and how psychological testing can be applied in order to select and measure these characteristics in connection with supervision and recruitment.
Teaching methods
Semesterplan: Usual semesterplan, master level.
Teaching method and activities: Lectures, seminars, supervision, and presentation.
Form of assessment: Project work (pass/no pass).
