Quality of Life

This is an elective course; however, credits earned here can be applied to a Master’s Degree in Health, Work and Organizational Psychology. Modern society includes our desire for a good live both in terms of health and life quality. Treatment of the central causes of such phenomena as psychosomatic illness and life style illnesses as well as the rising increase and research in the academic area of “quality-of-life” will take place in the course. Health related life quality concepts will be thoroughly discussed. Main quality-of-life predictors which are in use today, both as they pertain to the healthy and the handicapped will be presented as will important criteria for evaluation how quality-of-life is measured.

The course gives a theoretical grounding in research into actual life quality, insights into central life quality predictors, and practice in carrying out a project in the subject area.

Teaching method and activities: Lectures, seminars, supervision.
Form of assessment: Semester paper (A throug F).
