Organizing and management

This course is an advanced course in the field of work and organizational psychology. The course will pay emphasise the application of various theoretical fields, such as change management, professional and knowledge management, security management, leadership in the psychosocial work environment as well as opportunities, limitations and consequences of different organizational forms. The goal of this course is to give students the opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge to empirical and practical issues. The course will use workshops/seminars as the primary form of Learning, where case work is central.

After completing the course the student has in-depth knowledge about various forms of organisation of work and the management challenges these create. In addition, the student has knowledge about application of various theoretical management perspectives. '

Knowledge: The student has a thorough knowledge of relevant theory and empiricism on leadership in various fields. The student has a thorough knowledge of the various forms of work organisation.

Skills: Students know how to analyse the pros and cons of different organisational forms. Students can conduct critical analyses of organisational leadership challenges. Students can implement leadership development.

General competence: Students can critically analyse management related issues. Students can apply this knowledge to practical organisational and management challenges.

This courset is organized as seminars that combine lectures and professional discussions. In addition, the students must work on specific practice tasks between the seminars. The exercises are presented and discussed at the seminars, and as such are an integral part of the seminars. Physical presence is therefore necessary.
