About this course
Content
The course is a basic course in cognitive psychology (theory and method). Cognitive Psychology is used throughout the entire range of human knowledge, perception, activity, speech processing, problem solving and thinking about learning and memory. The course will give students knowledge of the most important concepts, themes, problems and empirical research in modern cognitive theory as it concerns how we receive, interpret, edit, use and save information. The course will deal with the study of both general traits and individual differences.
Learning outcomes
Gives students knowledge of what human cognition involves (attention, sensation, perception, activity, speech processing, problem solving, and thinking about learning and memory).
Gives students insight into the various methods used in cognitive psychology.
Gives the possibility to develop the ability to concentrate and to work independently on an empirical or theoretical project.
Teaching methods
Teaching method and activities: Lectures 2 hours per week, seminars, project work, student supervision, teacher supervision. Semesterplan: Usual semesterplan, bachelor level. Form of assessment: Project work (graded pass/not pass). Three copies of the project work must be submitted.
