Bachelor's Thesis Political Science

Through their work on their BA-thesis the students are supposed to study a specific subject within one of the four subfields within political science - international relations, comparative politics, political behavior and/ or public policy and administration. Supervision of the thesis will be given. Both compulsory and optional courses relevant to the work on the thesis will be held. Finally, the students are trained through the writing and presentation of their own thesis to become familiar with the "scientific way of thinking".

Knowledge - the student shall:

• be able to work independently with an academic question
• be able to write an academic work (bachelor's thesis) which fulfills the basic requirements of scientific production and argumentation
• be able to reflect over and choose which theoretical and methodological approach is most appropriate to use to answer the given problem

Skills - the student shall demonstrate the ability to:

• limit a specialized theme, formulate a research question, carry out an academically defensible analysis and report results in the form of a bachelor's thesis
• present their own academic work
• participate in critical, academic discussions concerning their own work
