Organizational Learning as a Field of Research and Practice

Organizational learning, learning organizations, collective defensive routines, knowledge in organizations and organizational memory.

The candidate has acquired extensive knowledge about:
- Different views and positions in relation to learning organizations and organizational learning, and their relevance for research and developmental work within the field of education and the teaching profession.

The candidate has acquired skills in:
- Discussing and analyzing challenges related to organizational learning in schools and other educational institutions.

The candidate has acquired general competency in:
- The candidate is capable of identifying and analysing what promotes and inhibits organizational learning and the development of learning organizations within the field of education.

This session-based course consists of lectures, group-discussions, individual- and study group work, and student presentations.

The exam consists of a 12-15 page long essay. At the final session, students are to present their preliminary work to their fellow students, who act as critics. Guidance may be provided on the essay draft by request.

The number of participants is limited to 20. The Department of Teacher Education reserves the right to cancel the course if less than 5 students have registered.
