Managing digitalisation projects

The course focuses on digitalisation projects in general and covers especially problems related to the planning and execution of digitalisation projects. Relevant topics include understanding the strategic and business challenges of digitalisation projects, characteristics of digitalisation projects, success factors, project manager competencies, collaboration models, organisational and cultural factors influencing digitalisation projects.

Knowledge; understand the key characteristics of digitalisation projects, identify key project management knowledge areas and process needed to manage digitalisation projects

Skills: Assess the competencies needed in order to manage digitalisations projects, apply research methods in order to identify typical uncertainties in digitalisation projects.

General competence: Understand the impact of digitalisation projects on business processes and on end-users, develop an understanding on the role of innovation in digitalisation projects.

Self study of relevant literature and the production of a paper based on this, preferably linked to the PhD focus of the student.
