About this course

Content

The subject is part of the basic module in the experience-based master's in technology management and digital transformation (MTDO). Themes that will be covered in the course are:

  • Ethics in a business context
  • Corporate Social Responsibility
  • Scientific theory
  • Research design
  • Quantitative research methods
  • Qualitative research methods

Learning outcomes

Knowledge:

The student has basic insight into issues related to research work. The student must have knowledge of different types of research design and the most common research methods within technology-based research. This should provide a basis for designing an appropriate research design for own research and implementing this so that the research results maintain high validity, reliability and, where relevant, transferability

Skills:

The student

  • can define a research problem and a suitable research design
  • can choose research methods appropriate for a defined problem
  • can carry out own research work, especially in connection with a master's thesis

General competence:

The student has a basis for critically reading and extracting relevant findings from research-based literature.

Teaching methods

The subject is carried out in two sessions, two + two days of lectures, group work and discussions. Great emphasis is placed on discussions and the transfer of experience between the participants.

Between the two collections there are self-studies with reading syllabus, assignments and guidance via the internet.

The entire course can be completed digitally, if the need arises.
