About this course
Content
Methods for modelling wave propagation in one-dimensional and three-dimensional anisotropic elastic media. Seismic inversion is defined as fitting the data to a model defined by parameters which can be estimated using Bayes or maximum likelihood techniques. Numerical solution of linear and non-linear least-squares problems. Parameter estimation and migration in anisotropic elastic media. Linear and quadratic approximations of the reflection coefficients.
Learning outcomes
Understanding of advanced seismic methods.
Teaching methods
Lectures, colloquiums and selfstudy.
