About this course

Content

The course consists of various modules in design that are particularly relevant for work in the public or private sector to create good and sustainable products and services. The course focuses strongly on the opportunities that arise as a result of technology development, digitalisation and the need for sustainability in the products and services of the future.

The theme for assignments, exercises and project work in all modules will largely be based on the company's needs or the candidate's background. This means that the exercises and project work are linked to specific cases that are relevant and relevant to the company or candidate. This means that the course participants are in practice at work during the course, and can take the result home to their business, or use it to build important competence for the working life of the future.

Each of the modules is carried out as digital sessions of 3 x 2 hours, with digital follow-up of the students. A specific implementation plan in each module is set up immediately after a possible allocation of funds. The implementation plan for the individual module is coordinated so that it is possible to participate in all of them.  

Learning outcomes

After completing the course, the student should:

  •  Know the most central concepts and backgrounds of service design
  • Understand the principles of how service design can be applied
  • Know basic topics in strategic design in the form of realizing the value of design and design thinking in larger organizations and companies; including future-oriented competitive situations, change and systems thinking.
  • Understand the value of visual communication of complex knowledge

Skills:

  • The student can complete the most basic techniques in service design, visual communication and strategic design.
  • The course provides an introduction and practical training in various forms of visual communication of research and knowledge work in presentations, posters and texts.
  • The course provides the candidate with a good basis for creating good and reader-friendly figures, illustrations and data visualizations for presentations, reports and marketing materials.
  • Students learn practical ways to use visual means of communication for their own projects such as presentations and posters.

Teaching methods

The implementation plan for the individual gathering is coordinated so that it is possible to participate in all of them.
