Open master's level course, fall semester

The course code is used by master’s students in Scandinavian Studies to follow a NORD2000-level course taught during the fall semester. Students attend classes and follow the reading list for the NORD2000-level course of their choice, but have a different assessment form. The course code NORD 3402 can only be used once. This course code cannot be used for a NORD2000-level course where the course content and/or the reading list overlaps with those of previous courses already taken by the student.

The candidate who has passed this course

Knowledge:

• has thorough theoretical and empirical knowledge of a specific topic
• has detailed knowledge of the scientific methods of the discipline
• has a conscious and critical awareness of various sources of information

Skills:

• can apply and reflect on theoretical and methodological approaches to a delimited area of study
• can communicate and convey academic issues, analyses, and conclusions within the discipline
• can summarize, process, and present academic literature on the relevant topic and produce a substantial analytic and/or argumentative text on the selected topic within a set time frame and according to academic requirements pertaining to sources, quotations, references, etc.

Learning methods and obligatory activities are the same as for the chosen NORD2000-level course. Approved obligatory assignments are valid for 2 semesters (the semester in which the approval is given, plus the following semester).

Specific conditions

Obligatory activities from previous semesters may be approved by the department.
