Visual Analysis

This subject addresses key questions of visual analysis and methodology through a variety of examples illustrating the uses and functions of images as media in visual culture, as well as in audiovisual and textual contexts.

Upon successful completion of this course, students gain a basic overview of what characterizes visual art works and everyday imagery as expressions of a communicative as well as an aesthetic kind. Students will also be able to identify and differentiate between various image types and genres.

This course is taught in Norwegian only.

The final assessment is based on a 4-hour written examination graded from A-F.
