Bachelor's Thesis: Music Technology in Communication with the Audience

Individual work with project. Practical preparation, facilitation and implementation of a public presentation of the students own practice in music technology.

Knowledge:

At the end of the course the candidate should have knowledge about

• different forms of expression that involves application of music technology
• organisational aspects of arranging a presentation/performance before an audience
• professions where knowledge and experience from music technology is central

Skills:

At the end of the course the candidate should be able to:

• integrate tools, knowledge and skills from music technology in their own project
• handle aspects of communication and dissemination towards audiences
• work independently with a music technology project
• cooperate with professional environments outside music technology
• write a report accounting for professional context, as well as technical and aesthetic aspects with their own project.

Lectures. 5 hours supervision per student. Teaching is usually conducted in Norwegian, but may take place in English.

Instruction is obligatory and demands minimum 80% attendance.

The bachelor thesis must normally be written in Norwegian. If the bachelor thesis is written in English or another non-Scandinavian language, it must have a Norwegian summary.
