About this course

Content

Through own experience, science and pedagogical methods, the students will extend their knowledge about what factors that influence the health of the voice, level of achievement and the mastering of stress factors. The subject is based on international science and development in the scientific field of voice physiology, voice acoustics and voice therapy.

Learning outcomes

The candidate:
-has knowlegde about the voice as mean of expression in classical singing.
-has insight in voice training, preventing various physical stressors.
- has insight in relevant and up to date research regarding the accustic potential; physiological, mental and medical causes of voice injuries, rehabilitation of the voice.
- has insight in how the choice of repertoire affects different voices.
- has insight in how performance pressure affects the voice.

Teaching methods

20 lessons in a group.
Workshop in using software for voiceaccustics, such as PRAAT, Wavesurfer, VoceVista, Electrophysiological measuring instruments for voice attack, Inverse Filtering. External electromyografic messuring of the muscles controlling breathing, and regitration of stress reactions in body and voice.
