Church Choir Conducting A

The course deals with advanced choral- and ensemble management, arrangement and composition related to the usual choral management tasks required of a church musician. The Department's church choir functions as the rehearsal ensemble. During the academic year at least one larger project is undertaken, where students have the opportunity to study and lead a choir/ensemble in a church service/concert.

The candidate
-Has basic knowledge of vocal techniques, voice development and choir sound.
-Has basic knowledge about choir warming up- and interpretation- techniques.
-Can express musical intentions through conducting choir and ensembles.
-Has basic skills in conducting techniques adequate for conducting choir and ensembles in various church musical occations.
-Has basic knowledge about old and more recent church music repertoire and performing traditions.

Groups - 2 hours pr. week for 27 weeks. Singing as a support instrument.
Attendance in the Department of Music's church choir for 2 hours a week.
