Basic Church Choir Conducting

The subject includes choir- and ensemble-conducting in a liturgic context. The Department's church choir functions as the rehearsal ensemble.

Knowledge:
The candidate:
-Has basic knowledge of vocal techniques, voice development and choir sound.
-Has basic knowledge about choir warming up- and interpretation- techniques.
-Has basic knowledge about old and more recent church music repertoire and performing traditions.

Skills:
The candidate:
-Can express musical intentions through conducting choir and ensembles.
-Has basic skills in conducting techniques adequate for conducting choir and ensembles in various church musical occations.

Groups - 2 hours pr. week for 24 weeks. Singing as a support instrument.

Attendance in the Department of Music's church choir for 2 hours a week.
