Jazz Theory C

The course is based on Theory Jazz B and consists of in-depth studies of diverse topics related to music theory and aesthetics, theories of improvisation, the psychology of learning and acting and their application to improvisation and composing/arranging. The subject is closely connected to the subject of aural training, and will to a great extent serve as a systematic way of making the student aware of the material and the processes at work in aural training.

Knowledge:

• has knowledge about organizing musical material in general, and aural training material in particular.

Skills:

The candidate:

• Can analyze music auditory.

Instruction:

• Lectures, student presentations and discussions (seminar) - 1.5 lessons a week per class for 24 weeks.

Instruction is obligatory and demands minimum 80% attendance.
