Composition Jazz B

The course is based on the individual student's music-generating aptitudes through aural-based composition and collective ensemble processes. The compositions are developed through analysis and use of compositional tools. Introduction to different aspects in Music Technology, such as basic creative use of musical software, basic knowledge of microfones, sound editing and studio recording.

Knowledge:

The candidate:

• has basic knowledge of composing for given ensembles
• knows how music software can be used as a tool in arranging/composing and sound recording-/editing.

Skills:

The candidate:

• has basic skills in arranging, composing and notation
• can use music software to arrange/compose music.

Lectures in style and musical analysis. Performances of the student's own production form the basis for individual tutoring.
