Main Instrument D

The subject builds upon the contains of Instrument and Performing C, or equivalent. Individual and group lessons in main instrument with emphasis on independent work. The student will study and work with a large and varied repertoire.

Performative analysis is included in concert forum.

Personal artistic development is a focus area, and performative analysis is included. The subject emphasizes concert training, and the student must participate with solo or chamber musical repertoire in at least three concerts during the academic year. At least one of the concerts must be part of Department of Music's own concerts. The concerts are to be documented and approved in the semester report.

Main instrument and accompaniment lessons that are intended to enable the student to achieve the learning objectives in the course are offered no more than once.

• masters and has experience in playing in different kinds of ensembles

• has knowledge of the main line of her/his repertoire, and has rehearsed considerable amounts of this repertoire
• has knowledge about and experience in practical issues around performance practicalities
• can analyze music from a performing musician's point of view

The instruction is mandatory and requires a minimum of 80% satisfactory participation.

An agreed accompaniment lesson that the student cancels on the same day is considered lost instruction and is included in the student's absence limit of a maximum of 20%.
