About this course

Content

Individual and group lessons in main instrument with emphasis on independent work, including group lessons with technical practice and specific main-instrumental themes. The subject emphasizes concert training and ensemble training, and the student must participate with solo or chamber musical repertoire in at least two concerts during the academic year. At least one of the concerts must be part of Department of Music's own concerts. The concerts are to be documented and approved in the semester reports.

Course in Physiology: The course includes knowledge in prevention of strain injuries, exercises in relaxation and concentration, principles of exercise, warming up exercises, and basic techniques in performance preparation.

Main instrument and accompaniment lessons that are intended to enable the student to achieve the learning objectives in the course are offered no more than once.

The candidate:

  • has instrumental/vocal skills in order to realize her/his artistic intentions
  • can work goal-oriented and independent, alone or together with other
  • masters prima vista singing/playing
  • has training in several different areas of performing
  • takes an active part in assessing her/his own and other students playing in study groups

The candidate:

  • has knowledge of basic anatomy, and can relate this knowledge in preventing body strain damages
  • has knowledge of different views of learning

The instruction is mandatory and requires a minimum of 80% satisfactory participation.

An agreed accompaniment lesson that the student cancels on the same day is considered lost instruction and is included in the student's absence limit of a maximum of 20%.
