Electrochemical Energy Technology

The course is given every second year, next time will be 2007/08. The following topics will be treated:
* Relationships between various forms of energy
* Conversion of chemical energy to electric energy
* Storage of electric energy as chemical energy
* Energy conversion in batteries and fuel cells
* Electrode reactions, electrocatalysis
* Photovoltaic systems
* Hydrogen production by water electrolysis

To give the student a good insight into the field og electrochemical energy conversion systems, and develop a fair understanding of the advantages and disadvantages of these systems compared to competing technologies.

Lectures, discussions, voluntary exercises and self-tuition.
