About this course

Content

The course will be based on basic molecular biological, cell biological and immunological research within the Department of Cancer Research and Molecular Medicine at The Faculty of Medicine. The students will be introduced to basic experimental biological research on molecular and cellular level. The course will present cell biological and molecular processes of cell growth and cell death, cell repair and maintenance as well as innate and adaptive immunological mechanisms. Mechanisms will be described on three levels: molecular, cellular and on organism level. Focus will be on host defence mechanisms against diseases and how fundamental scientific research can contribute to improve medical treatment.
