Unit operations in biotechnological production processes: - fermentation - enzymatic processes - separation processes for biological products- preservation of quality through unit operations

Learning outcomes

Læringsutbytte - Kunnskap: Students should; - have knowledge of key industrial biotechnical processes - be able to describe unit operations and methods in biological production techniques- know how various process parameters affect quality     Læringsutbytte - Ferdigheter: Students should; - be able to plan subprocesses and put these together into a holistic process - assess and evaluate biotechnological production processes- be able to assemble various unit operations to make sure that quality is preserved through the process     Læringsutbytte - Kompetanse: Students should; - have insight of the challenges that are applicable to ensure quality in relevant processes - be able to identify new ideas and innovations within current biotechnological processes - be able to communicate and share experiences with others who have background in the field

Teaching methods

Lectures Group assignment Laboratory excersises Calculations. The course has a calculated study load of 266 hours, of which up to 50 hours are lectures, 60 hours for group work and 20 hours of lab. Mandatory work assignments: 100% of laboratory and calculation excersises approved. Oral presentation of choosen topic Mandatory when guest lecturer. Participation in course of scientific writing. Mandatory presence at guest lectures and excursions
