Learning outcomes

The candidate

  • have the necessary knowledge to perform basic heat and moisture calculations on the building envelope
  • can perform simulations to calculate a building's energy demand
  • has knowledge of requirements in the technical building regulations related to thermal indoor climate, radon, moisture and energy.
  • has knowledge of greenhouse gas emissions related to material use in buildings
  • have knowledge of zero emission buildings
  • has knowledge of circular thinking for buildings and how wooden structures can be designed for reuse and reduced greenhouse gas emissions

Teaching methods

The form of learning is essentially lectures, project work and exercises.

If less than 6 students take the course, it will mainly be conducted as guided self-study.

For web-students:

  • Communication between tutor and student is organized through a digital learning platform.
  • Video recordings will be made accessible through the digital learning platform.
