Master Thesis in Social Pedagogy

Under supervision, the student must plan and carry out independent research work with relevance to pedagogical work in the school. The work on the master's thesis must be based on a project plan that the student has prepared in advance. The student can choose whether the research work should include empirical data or only be theoretically based. The master's thesis is the research report where the student documents the work and presents research findings. Through the master's thesis, the student must, based on a chosen research question, show insight into current research, theories and methods.

KNOWLEDGE:

The student

- has in-depth knowledge of issues related to the social pedagogical field

- has in-depth knowledge of the research process, from planning, via implementation and to documentation of an independent research work

SKILLS:

The student:

- can under supervision supervise and carry out a research project in line with current research ethics norms

- can activly find and use research literature and theory that is relevant to conduct research within a limited subject area in pedagogy

- can use relevant research methods to carry out a pedagogical research work / investigate pedagogical issues

- can orientate, and critically relate to different sources of information

GENERAL COMPETENCE:

The student

- can convey an extensive independent research work within the subject area

- can critically assess various research work and their validity and relevance

- can apply insight into special issues related to diversity and inclusion issues, and contribute to the development of a democratic school
