Master's Thesis in KRLE

This course consists of the master thesis and a curriculum relevant to the individual thesis. Under supervision, the student will develop and complete a study documented through the master thesis. The student, in consultation with the supervisor, will determine the topic of the thesis. The topic may therefore vary from student to student. The student is also required to assemble an individual curriculum/reading list consisting of peer-reviewed research relevant to the/his/her thesis.

• has specialized insight into a defined CREE-relevant field (the topic of the thesis)
• has thorough knowledge about what is required from research papers in CREE-didactical research
• has knowledge about reference standards for scientific texts in this field

Skills

The student

• can analyze subject specific issues based on knowledge about/of the subject's distinctive character, its foundational values and history, and use such insights in teaching, research and development
• can apply critical research-based professional knowledge in the exploration of new problem areas
• can under supervision design and carry out a research project with relevance for CREE-didactic in line with current ethical norms for research
• can carry out independent research projects/empirical research
• can make an informed choice regarding methods for collection and analysis of data material
• can analyze and critically scrutinize sources (research literature and data material) and apply them to conceptualize and formulate scientific reasoning

General competence

The student

• can at an advanced level convey and communicate about subject specific issues related to the practice of the profession, and have digital competence relevant to the profession
• can explain and present reasons for methodological choices related to research focus
• can analyze relevant research questions related to the teaching of CREE in school
• can convey results from extensive independent work and master the CREE-didactical language and genres
• can contribute to innovative thinking and innovative processes in the CREE-subject in school
