Music 2 (5-10) Subject 1: Music as a Creative and Performing Subject in a Pedagogical Context

Varied training in musical guidance and project work, continued development of skills in performing, creating and listening. Ear training, interpretation, composition and arranging. Teaching pedagogies concerning evaluation and project planning.

• Has comprehensive knowledge about musical children culture, beginner training and development in musicianship, composition and listening.
• Has knowledge about a variety of musical genres and styles in the field of improvisation, composition and arranging.
• Has knowledge about the relationship between music and emotional and social competences.
• Has knowledge about musical performance in a pedagogical context.
• Has knowledge about dance composition.
Skills
The student
- can plan, lead, carry out and evaluate a variety of learning methods in music.
- can present a varied repertoire of music alone and together with others in the school.
- can utilise ear-based skills to understand, analyse, create and perform music.
- can create own compositions and arrange musical material for different situations and for educational and learning purposes.
- can relate to performing music and dance and create dance together with others.

General skills
The student:
- can contribute in occupational processes of change with emphasis on innovation, change and flexibility in the teacher role.

The teaching methods will vary between individual and group-based teaching in groups of different sizes, lectures, group projects and practical musicianship. The students will work practical and develop knowledge and skills in musicianship, ensemble playing, composition, arranging, musical understanding, leadership and communication.
