Community Medicine

Semester 3C is mainly devoted to general practice and community medicine. In addition, the subjects of occupational medicine, geriatrics and pharmacology and the disciplines of social medicine and environmental medicine are taught.

During the semester, the students will further develop their competence in medical behavioural sciences, communication, prevention and health promotion, leadership and systems understanding, law and knowledge management. These topics are put into a practical and clinical framework. Selected topics in medical history, philosophy of science and medical ethics are also taught.

A key part of the semester is six weeks of practice in the primary health service

The course is mainly taught in Norwegian, but some classes may be taught in English.
