Bachelor Thesis

Current project proposals are provided through the department's research and development work, external partners and from the student's own proposals. The course gives an introduction to project planning, research and development, report writing, source criticism and presentation methodology.

Knowledge: K1 The candidate can plan and complete a project work according to research ethics guidelines and common project management principles, K2 The candidate can use professional knowledge and skills acquired in the study to delve into the topic area of the thesis, K3 The candidate can use scientific databases to search for literature and obtain other relevant information, K4 The candidate has knowledge of research and innovation as a promoter for sustainable development in the food sector

Skills: F1 The candidate shows critical reflection with regard to own work and use of sources, F2 The candidate shows independence in his/her work and ability to collaborate with supervisors, fellow students and project partners, F3 The candidate can communicate own work in a scientific way

The Bachelor thesis is conducted in groups of maximum 3 students. The group size can be adjusted in relation to the task and to ensure feasibility. Each group is assigned a main supervisor. The main emphasis of the teaching takes place through supervision. A few lectures are given.

Hours: Lectures (6 hours), Bachelor Thesis Seminar (a total of 6 hours), Independent project work, including assignment writing (ca. 400 hours/student).
