Representation Theory of Finite Groups

The course will be given each fourth year if enough students register for the course. If there are few students registered, the course may be given as a guided self-study.

The course will include modular representation theory, character theory, the theory for vertices and sources and Brauer correspondence.

1. Knowledge
The course will include Maschkes
theorem, modular representation theory, character theory, induced modules,
the theory of vertices and sources, Brauer correspondence.

2. Skills
The students should learn the representation theory for finite groups and be able to conduct researches in representation theory for finite groups and its applications.


3. Competence
The students should be able to participate in scientific discussions and conduct researches on high international level in representation theory.

Lectures, alternatively guided self-study.
