About this course
Content
Transformers, coupling groups, synchronous machines, asynchronous machines, DC machines, other small motors. Start Methods. Starting problem, efficiency / loss, torque curves, special characteristics, applications. Idle and short circuit tests, and calculations based on these measurements. Inverter Drives.
Learning outcomes
Knowledge:
The candidate has knowledge of:
- Construction and characteristics of transformers and electrical machines
- Torque and power effect on conductors in a magnetic field.
- The electrical equivalents of the machines.
- Information on the machine's nameplate.
- Various challenges, methods and principles for starting, stop and speed control of electric motors.
Skills:
The candidate can:
- Make measurements and calculations in systems where electrical machines are included.
- Describe the behavior and structure of the various electrical machines
- Could design electrical machines and transformers for different applications.
General competence:
The candidate:
- Can use a professional language in communication with colleagues and representatives from other disciplines
- Have insight into the subject and communicate knowledge in the field of school and business
