About this course
Content
Structure and properties of metals and alloys, plastics, ceramics and composites. Crystal structure and microstructure, mechanical properties, deformation and heat treatment of metals and alloys, material testing and corrosion. Internal Control Regulations, Building Internal Control System, Risk Assessment, Deviation, Revision of Internal Control System, Important Protective Areas in a Production Technology Environment, Section 9a of the Education Act

Knowledge
The candidate
- Explains the structure and properties of materials and how the properties are linked to structure.
- Know how different characteristics are connected and what are the key characteristics of a material.
- Has a broad knowledge of material selection within its field of study, and can determine where it is most beneficial to use a given material.
- Know the contents of the Internal Control Regulations and what requirements this implies for building an internal control system.
- Know the content of the Education Act §9a and how this can be implemented in the internal control system. Skills The candidate - Can identify different materials.
- Can choose the right materials according to functional requirements. - Can plan and carry out work within their own disciplines, independently and in teams.
- Can help in building and maintaining an internal control system in a manufacturing engineering environment.
General competence
The candidate
- Has insight into the environmental, health, social and economic consequences of material and product selection, and can put these into a lifelong perspective.
- Understands the importance of conducting preventive health and safety work and communicates this in writing and oral to different target groups in the field of own teaching programs in schools and companies.
Teaching methods
Lectures, exercises, self-study and project work. Teaching will take place at collections and as self-study between the collections.
