Sematics I

This course offers an introduction to formal semantics, covering such subjects as set theory, sentence logic and predicate logic, and shows how the semantics of natural languages can be studied in light of such systems.

The objective is that the students get a general idea of the system of concepts and basic methods within semantic theories.

More on assessment: Obligatory exercises must be approved before the student may sit the written exam. The size of the exercises must be between 4-6 A4-pages each. In special cases, upon student petition, a take-home exam may be allowed.
