Master's Thesis in Equality and Diversity

The thesis should normally be between 20000-30000 words. It shall demonstrate the ability to carry out an independent scientific research project. The topic for the master's thesis is selected in consultation with a supervisor, and must be approved within the first semester.

The thesis work is to carry out a research project, including formulation of research questions and how to gather and analyse the research material. He/she will also learn how to write scientific texts. The student will achieve competence to analyse socio-cultural phenomena and changes.

The candidate has knowledge of:

• the development of research design and methodology of a limited research mission
• is able to obtain and consider appropriate research material -can use theory and prepare relevant analysis strategies
• has knowledge of research ethics guidelines

The candidate has skills in:

• the ability to study a large portfolio of cases, analyse them and draw sound conclusions
• a type of systematics and abstraction suitable for use in research work, innovation, education, work organisations and policy development

Individual and group based supervision.
