Interpreting God Today

What is the role of Christianity in everyday life? How do we interpret God in the context of the here and now?
This course provides a survey of the systematic theology from the 20th and 21st century. A special emphasis lies on secularization and globalization as contexts that call for a creative approach from the Christian view of life. The course will include central theologians, feminist theology and contextual theology.

The student will acquire a survey of 20th and 21st century's systematic theology. Special emphasis lies on the understanding of problem areas, theories and methods of theology, in addition to the sociocultural and historical contexts of theological systems. Students should be able to express and discuss systematic theological issues both orally and in writing. The instruction consists of lectures and/or seminars. In order to take the exam a written assignment must be submitted (2000-2500 words). The exam consists of a written assignment (3000-4000 words). Information on time frames is provided at the start of the semester.
