Introduction to Christianity

The course consists of an introduction to Christianity as a world religion, with biblical studies, history, theology, and theoretical and practical ethics as points of departure. An emphasis is placed on an understanding of the manifold interpretations of Christianity as expressed by the great church traditions (Orthodox, Oriental, Catholic, Protestant), and how it is expressed in regional variations worldwide.

The course will provide the student with a basic insight into the historical conditions and importance of Christianity, its doctrines, as well as its contemporary position and regional variations.
