Christian Faith, Church and Culture

The course offers a systematic and historical approach to Christianity and its significance. The systemic approach provides reflection about Christianity's understanding of life in contemporary society. The historical approach focuses on how Christianity through the centuries has influenced the life and thinking of people in changing contexts with respect to their view of life, culture and society. A perspective from the social sciences is central in both approaches.

Students should develop an ability for systematic reflection about the content of Christianity and a historical awareness/understanding of the origin and development of Christianity.
