Applied Heterogeneous Catalysis

The course is given every second year, next time in the fall term 2009.
The course gives an introduction to modern theories for the most important groups of heterogeneous catalysts: Metals, metal oxides and zeolites. Examples of industrial applications are included. The course includes a kinetic description of the different processes involved in a catalytic cycle: Adsorption, surface reaction and desorption in addition to mass and heat transfer. An introduction to different experimental methods for studying catalytic reactions will also be given.
