Informatics Project II

In this course, students will work in group to carry out a software project. The projects are selected and assigned by the teaching staff. During the course students must cooperate closely with their customers.

Students are required to work in group on their project and to attend common activities and supervision meetings. The results must be clearly documented in the mid-term and final report.

Key objective of this course is to gain practical experience with the development in group of a software product for a customer, covering the whole life-cycle of the software project.

Students will develop applied skills in software engineering as well as specific skills about programming languages and tools depending on the specific project they will work with.

Students will develop general competencies to conduct medium-scale development processes; reflect on technical and organisational aspects of software development and project.

The students will develop applied skills to document and present an informatics project in English, oral and written.

Work in group (generally 5-7 students), regular meetings with customers, seminars, regular status reports, and meetings with the teaching staff if necessary. During the semester all the groups deliver a mid-term progress report for detailed feedbacks.

In addition to the ordinary course registration, it is required to sign up of the project work during the first week of the semester. A failure to do it may prevent the student from getting accepted into the course.

All projects must be presented orally at the end of the semester, as it will be specified at the beginning of the semester.
