About this course

Content

The subject deals with educational software and describes a way of developing this kind of software. As part of this the students must design an interactive user interface for a specific user group and to use multimedia. The subject describes important elements in a user interface, and discusses how multimedia elements like sound, graphics, video and virtual reality can be integrated software with a pedagogical purpose.
The subject uses a method that focuses on creativity, and has a strong focus on one specific user group. It is expected that the students will write code during the development of the prototype the will be worked on during the project.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge:
The candidate will get knowledge of:
- Interaction design
- The characteristics of multimedia elements like text, graphics and video
- Understanding of symbols
- Central activities in the developement of interactive software

Skills:
The candidate will be skilled on:
- Performing design of an interactive software title for learning
- The use of prototyping tools

General competence:
The candidate will get an:
- An understanding of important elements in the development of interactive software
- An understanding of the importance of focusing on specific users/usergroups when developing interactive software titles.

Teaching methods

Lectures. The students will do a project that will count as 40% of the evaluation provided you pass the exam..
